Hi, I’m Emma - Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)
With a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and membership in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), I bring both formal training and years of experience to my practice. I am also an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP), with specialized training in supporting those with ADHD and executive functioning challenges. I’ve had the privilege of working in homes, schools, clinics, and community spaces, supporting youth, young adults, and families through anxiety, identity shifts, burnout, emotional dysregulation, and the often invisible weight of being neurodivergent in a world where being different can feel like a challenge.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent youth and young adults, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and mood-related challenges. I understand how these experiences can shape daily life, relationships, and one’s sense of self. Alongside counselling, I incorporate executive functioning coaching to strengthen organization, daily routines, follow-through, and motivation. I also work with individuals navigating important transitions—whether exploring questions of identity and purpose or simply feeling that something needs to change but not knowing where to start. In addition to working directly with clients, I consult with parents who want to better understand their child's unique needs and build stronger, more supportive connections.
My approach is person-centered, and collaborative. I view challenges through a strengths-based and developmental lens, while integrating several evidence-based approaches that are tailored to each client. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) supports emotional regulation and distress tolerance. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps identify patterns that contribute to anxiety, avoidance, or perfectionism. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) builds flexibility and values-based action. Narrative Therapy allows us to externalize shame-based stories and reshape identity in more empowering ways. I also incorporate nervous system-informed strategies to better understand shutdown, overwhelm, and regulation cycles common in ADHD and autism.
Most importantly, I believe counselling should be accessible. Mental health support is not a luxury - it’s a right. I offer sliding scale options so that financial circumstances don’t stand between you and the care you deserve. Additionally, my services are covered under most extended health insurance plans, and I accept Autism Funding for eligible families in BC.
If you’re curious about working together, I offer free 30-minute consultations. No pressure - just a chance to chat and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. It's important to me that you feel comfortable and confident during this process.
