Hi, I’m Emma - Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)
With a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and membership in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), I bring both formal training and years of experience to my practice. I’ve had the privilege of working in homes, schools, clinics, and community spaces, supporting youth, young adults, and families through anxiety, identity shifts, burnout, emotional dysregulation, and the often invisible weight of being neurodivergent in a world where being different can feel like a challenge.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent youth and young adults, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and mood-related challenges. I understand how these experiences can shape daily life, relationships, and one’s sense of self. Alongside counseling, I incorporate mentorship and life skills coaching to support executive functioning, daily routines, and practical strategies that help youth navigate everyday challenges more confidently. I also work with individuals navigating important transitions—whether exploring questions of identity and purpose or simply feeling that something needs to change but not knowing where to start. In addition to working directly with clients, I consult with parents who want to better understand their teen's unique needs and build stronger, more supportive connections.
My approach is person-centered, strength-based, and collaborative. I integrate several evidence-based approaches that are tailored to each client. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches skills for managing strong emotions and improving relationships. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages acceptance of difficult feelings while focusing on personal values. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) supports healing and connection within relationships. Internal Family Systems (IFS) explores the different parts of ourselves to foster inner balance. Mindfulness practices build awareness and calm. Together, these tools create a flexible framework that meets you where you’re at.
Most importantly, I believe therapy should be accessible. Mental health support is not a luxury - it’s a right. I offer sliding scale options so that financial circumstances don’t stand between you and the care you deserve. Additionally, my services are covered under most extended health insurance plans, and I accept Autism Funding for eligible families in BC.
If you’re curious about working together, I offer free 30-minute consultations. No pressure - just a chance to chat and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. It's important to me that you feel comfortable and confident during this process.
